The feature film BLUE SOMBRERO
premiered in Los Angeles to big appause
. PVF found the locations for the film and
helped producing it. The shoot was a great
success and all the american crew and actors
would love to come back to Costa Rica.

After working on new line's upcoming
feature film TENACIOUS D
and THE PICK OF DESTINY
( with Jack Black , Tim Robbins
, John Rilley and others) , Reinhart
Peschke was approached by Ben Stiller
about shooting a military comedy in Costa
Rica for dream works. Perfect locations
were found and a budget was proposed. However,
the production was postponed until sometime
in 2006.

Producer George Brown
, who worked with PVF before, approached
us about a perfume commercial for italy.
Locations were proposed and a 2 day shoot
was budgeted by PVF.
June/July
2005
Sarah Garcia from Watermelon
Productions and PVF are in talks
about a coffee commercial for japan. PVF
found great locations and also budgeted
a 3 day shoot for the Japanese crew .
April
2005
Veteran producer/director and long-time
collaborator Mauricio Mendiola visited Los
Angeles and Pura Vida Films producer Ray
Peschke to unveil his next project - a feature
film that, in addition to Costa Rica, will
also take him to South America and Europe.
March
2005
After many inquiries Pura Vida Films
started a roster of directors and cinematographers
ready to work on projects in Central America.
Their reels are available though Pura Vida
Films (310 455 7220). Pura Vida Films and
some investors contacted real estate managers
near the capital San Jose to build state
of the art sound stages with offices. Pura
Vida Films also met with contractors about
plans and construction costs.
February
2005
Pura Vida Films helped a Japanese agency
and production company to find locations
and talent for 2 commercials (Nissan, Gilette)
and one public announcement (Child Soldier).
Famed Brazilian director Carlos Manga Jr.
was set to helm the project.
January
2005
Ray Peschke traveled to Germany to promote
Pura Vida Films. Florian Nilson, owner of
a location company, partnered with Pura
Vida Films to promote Costa Rica, Panama
and Nicaragua as film location.
Radical
Media and famed commercial director Chris
Milk inquired with Pura Vida Films about
shooting a music video in Costa Rica in
place of Rio de Janeiro.
Pura
Vida Films was contacted by New York based
production company PMC to submit a budget
for a two-day commercial shoot at one of
the beautiful Caribbean beaches. A big star
was connected to the project.
December
2004
The feature film BLUE SOMBRERO under the
direction of Douglas Freel was shot in December
after Pura Vida Films secured all locations
and crew members for their project. The
shoot was a great success. The US crew and
actors enjoyed the filming and had nothing
but praise for the Costa Rican crew and
the general help of the Costa Rican people.

Maverick producer Samson Mucke whose credits
include Wim Wenders' Land of Plenty,
Don't Come Knocking, The Soul of a Man and
commercials for Audi, Volkswagen and Love
Renaissance is currently working on the
feature film Invisible Jungle. He is in
talks with Pura Vida Films about using Costa
Rica's rainforest to stand in for the Brazilian
Amazon Jungle.

With the help of PVF Producer Dennis McGuire,
production designer Mark Mason and director
Douglas Freel found all the locations needed
for their feature film "Blue Sombrero"
in Costa Rica.
September
2004
PVF adds many unique locations in Nicaragua
to its ever growing portfolio. They include
Lake Nicaragua, the islands of the lake,
colonial Granada, the Volcanoes Momotombo
and Mombacho, Pacific beaches and resorts.
Renowned
lawyer and filmmaker Fernando Somarriba
de Valery will act as one of the main contacts
in Nicaragua. Mr. Larry Hustler of Nicolandia
Realties will be helpful in finding locations
and talent.

For the upcoming feature film "Panamerica",
PVF scouted and locked in locations. Among
them are: a luxury house, a church, a beach
and the jungle. PVF also lined up actors,
crew and production staff.


Summer
2004
PVF scouted the facilities of Pura Vida
Spa for James Mylanek for a Industrial/Commercial.
PVF also advised on equipment and crew.
Spring
2004
Director/producer Mark Lester (Arnold Schwarzenegger's
'Commando') sent his producer Paul Goldman
to scout in Costa Rica with Pura Vida Film's
Rodolfo Jimenez and Ray Peschke for his
project "Pterodactyls". Paul Goldman
reported back in LA that all the locations
were perfect and within easy reach. Pura
Vida Films will provide all services for
the film.
December
2003
Famed film producer and director MARK LESTER
(Commando)
showed interest in PVF's services for his
upcoming action film.
Volcanic erruptions, jungles, a small village
and pterodactyls (!) will be needed.
November
2003
Director, writer, filmmaker DOUG FREEL
will scout and shoot his feature film "
SERGENT SARGENT "
in Costa Rica - with the help of PVF. It
promises to be an over the top action-comedy,
that "will make every comedy
ever made look like a dark drama."
October
2003
Director THIERRY FASIOTTI and his producers
decided to shoot
their feature - film " LORDS OF JUNE
" in Costa Rica with PVF as a
production partner. A scout will show, if
Costa Rica would also
suit some of their other projects.
September
2003
The feature film DEATH OF A SUPERMODEL was
filmed at a
location that PVF found and secured for
director Joel Silverman.
Filming lasted 3 weeks. Guests on the set
included BRUCE WILLIS.
Other
Developements
PVF is planing to expand into NICARAGUA
and provide locations for every kind of
production.
Nicaragua offers the biggest lake of Central
America with volcanic islands , its stunning
beaches
are also easily reachable , old colonial
towns close by.
July
2003
PuraVidaFilms took producer Reinhard Schreiner
and his director Joel Silverman onto a scout
all along the Pacific Coast of mainland
Costa Rica for their upcoming feature film
Death of a Supermodel.
August/September
2003
Reinhart Peschke and his PVF production
staff are prepping, scouting and casting
for a commercial campaign for Hasbro's
new lineup of toys. Stone Core Films,
a Dallas-based production company with director
Norri Niven at the helm will be shooting
for 5 days at several locations.
April/May
2003
PVF
helped producers Steve Stone and his two
directors Mitchell Deoudes and Andy Davis
on their 8 day shoot on both coasts for
their eclectic 20min art film The
Death of Doctor Island. They saved
40 percent of their budget and were extremely
pleased with the overall experience, in
particular with the crew, food and locations.
The quality and amount of stunning footage
exceeded their expectations by far.

Future
Project
PuraVidaFilms is already scouting and
casting for their upcoming feature film
project Going South. The action
adventure themed road movie will take the
characters from Los Angeles to Panama. The
film is slated for a Dec/Jan shoot and will
put PVF's expansion into Panama to the test.
